I Make My Own Resin River Wall Art- River Teign
Просмотров 3193 года назад
My last resin project never got a video, so I made another. Maybe I shouldn't have.. This project was a spur of the moment. Returning from a perfect break away with friends in Newquay, I just wanted to make something in my last few days off, before returning to work. Projects always give me something to work towards on the weekend. They help the week slip by as I think of how I'm going to get t...
I Built My Mum a Garden Cabin
Просмотров 2663 года назад
First "Big DIY" of the year, it was time to revamp my parent's garden with a shiny new cabin, to replace the original dilapidated shed. That shed went from tool shed, to bike shed, to "my shed", to my spray booth and back to a tool shed over it's life and had seen better days. The video doesn't show us building much of the real solid foundations and my Dad's weeks of pre-painting the softwood b...
I built a DIY Mineshaft Infinity Mirror

As "Big DIY Season" draws closer, I had one more opportunity to have some fun. Not that Big DIY isn't fun, this is just a non essential and non functional project. Just a bit of fun. I had some space left over after moving out some old junk and re-organising the cave. Was going to build some more shelving (for more shit?) but decided to do something different. Scouring the net for some inspirat...
How I Built an Apollo Rocket Lamp 1/2

See Part 2 here: ruclips.net/video/0Snc6iF4CFo/видео.html With the winter settled in, Christmas a thing of the past and the tools locked firmly away for this season, I decided to film this Apollo 11 rocket build after gratefully receiving it for Christmas. The thing is a detailed, 70cm tall monolith, fully disassembles into each stage including the lander and generally deserved to be documented...
I Finally Build Myself A Workbench
Просмотров 1033 года назад
With the workshop and window completed. Next I needed a workbench. I've built several benches and tables before so this little one was a breeze. Except when I chose to use scrap wood from old builds, which had twisted and warped. That slowed me down but didn't stop me. I also wanted this workbench to strap to the wall, but with wheels, so It wouldn't roll or slide around (Caster brakes are usel...
I Build And Fit A Workshop Window
Просмотров 653 года назад
The plans for the shed always had space for a window. As the sun was still getting hotter, the shed did also, so my next build was this simple window. Still sitting on the hype from the previous 3 successive videos, I wanted to tone it back again with this instrumental from Clams Casino. I listed to the A$AP rocky version non stop and it's the soundtrack for many cool/reflective moments for me....
DIY Custom Workshop Build

This took way to long to happen. But here it is, after years of deliberation..my very own Nerdforge. Planning for this took weeks, back and forward with different plans, making it work/fit in with the house (The pitched roof avoids blocking the top window with the roof) but also looking how I wanted it to look and function. As lookdown started to kick in, supplies also ran low and made things n...
I Build a Fence With My Dad

Once dad had his box, he asked me to lend a hand with his new fence line. |'ve got the nail gun and other tools along with experience building my boundary fences. So I leant a hand on this nice sunny spring day. I'm also on a personal DIY hiatus while I plan and purchase my workshop build. The unorthodox fence was simply a response to the jagged and sloping boundary line, which also backed onto...
How I Made My Herringbone Chevron Table

This was my first project where I thought it would be cool to film it as I had lost touch with making videos and editing and knew this project could turn out looking cool. It was the song which made me think of wanting to edit again in all honesty. Music has that impact on me sometimes. A couple of planning and purchasing days we required before this one, the physical table build was completed ...

    Hi sir what type of glass used in front side... It is one way mirror?? What is the thickness of front glass .. Please guide me....sir

    • @MrJoelDavies
      @MrJoelDavies Месяц назад

      The mirror at the back is a normal mirror, then the regular glass panel on the front has a 1 way/privacy film on it which you can buy online (seen at 3:20). The mirrored side of the front glass panel faces into the infinity box. So from the inside, the mirrors look at each other, but I can see through one of the mirrors, creating the infinity illusion, but only once the lights inside are turned on. . If that makes sense? Both glass pannels are about 7mm thick. This can vary for you depending on what kind of project you are doing. If it's a table, maybe thicker and/or shatter-proof for safety reasons. But because this is just a display which isn't touched, thinner can be used.

    • @MrJoelDavies
      @MrJoelDavies 3 месяца назад

      Thank you! And yes...to be fair. In real life it probably wouldn't be much use haha. But I guess I wasn't too concerned about that when building it, as it's not actually mining anything and I wanted you to be able to see into the middle of the cart. Also makes it look old/rickety. After I finished this, I wrapped fist sized beach pebbles in foil and spray painted them gold and filled the cart with those. Due to the slats, you can see it's piled with sizable chunks of "gold". I've been meaning to upload a follow-up video of it with the gold in, but I don't think enough people would actually care to watch it and I'm about to move out of this house and leave the mine cart in place anyway (Buyers kid demanded it as part of the sale).

    • @MrJoelDavies
      @MrJoelDavies 4 месяца назад

      thank you very much! Honestly, I don't see why not.. As long as you have enough light inside the "box" the illusion will work. It's all about selling the realism too, as long as you have the right repeating element, laid out in the right way, with enough light inside. It should work. I would LOVE to see one on the scale you're thinking of. You would be one of the first to create such a thing that I know of and it would certainly a RUclips opportunity... Good luck and keep me updated if you can.

      @@TheConner1612 sorry, almost forgot to reply to this one, been busy getting ready to move house! The lighting is a really cool idea, would be really interesting to see if that idea would work as the main light source, could be too Dim, but well worth trying for sure. Even if it's backed up by some other (optional) lighting source maybe. Dimension wise, I've packed my project book with the original plans, but I can make a pretty good guess from memory. W-160CM H-60CM Depth- ~80cm Cart was about: 40x40cm and about 20cm deep (30cm High inc wheels etc)

At 3:20, that is a transparent mirror or "privacy film" bought on amazon. It created the illuision by enabling both mirrors to look at each, while allowing you to see right through on of the mirrors. If that makes sense...it then creates the infinity.... Please let me know if I can elaborate further. • @MrJoelDavies
      @MrJoelDavies Год назад

      You think so? I like the illusion of a train of carts heading into the abyss. The lights help create the entire effect which requires a lot of light, so could not be avoided. Which it why I went for the “ornate” lamp style. So they at least fit in. It’s why you will always see these infinite tunnels with repeating lights. Gotta have them u less you’re using LEDs maybe. Thanks for watching either way! I appreciate all feedback.
